PIZZAS
Wisteria Cottage and The Oaks each have a traditional wood-fired pizza oven, one of the most versatile outdoor cooking options in our opinion. If you're feeling adventurous you can slow-roast meat, bake bread and even cook roast potatoes in it. Now we know that not everyone knows how to operate one so we've created a handy little 'how to' to make your life a bit easier if you'd like to have a pizza day while you're on the farm.

There's a bread machine in the kitchen that makes the perfect pizza dough (trust us, it's worth doing the whole thing from scratch, pre-made bases just aren't the same) and everything you'll need to get started. It's a really fun way to spend the afternoon or evening and the whole family will love it!

To make the dough you'll need to bring with white bread flour (if you're eating pizza let's not ruin a good thing by trying 'whole wheat bases' for the first time), instant yeast (the stuff that comes in the sachet), sugar (the yeast needs this to grow, don't skip it 'cause you're worried about the calories, it's only a small amount), salt, olive oil and water (the stuff out the tap is perfect). The recipe and instructions are on the wall in the kitchen.

There's also a copy of the 'how to' in the kitchen and we have printed copies if you'd like to have it with you at the pizza oven or would like to take one home, just let us know.
